Geoffrey Wood was born in Chicago and raised there by
his mother. His father was "not around to help" raise Jeff and
his two sisters and two brothers. He went to Senn High School
for three and a half years and found himself homeless in the
early eighties. He worked at a Jewel supermarket from 1990-96
and again became homeless in 1996. Jeff came to California that
year and currently lives at his campsite in downtown San Jose.
He joined the Downtown Art Project in late February 2001 and
has been drawing and painting all of his life.
